WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Class 1 - Introduction to 3DS Max Interface, Units and Manipulating Objects
During this first two-hour class, you will learn the fundamentals of 3D workflow and be familiarised with the 3ds Max interface. You will start by learning about preferences, project configuration, units, Maxstart files, navigation tools and visual styles. The class will then progress onto working with viewports, modelling techniques, manipulation tools, snaps, and finally the parametric geometries and shapes.
Class 2 - Various Modelling Techniques in 3ds Max
Now that you are familiar with the basics of 3ds Max, you will learn how to work with basic geometry modifiers such as Bend, Twist, Taper, FFD, Noise, Lattice and Symmetry. You will also learn how to create parametric models during this session.
Class 3 - 2D and Low/High Poly Modelling in 3ds Max
This session will focus on some of the most important and useful modelling techniques in 3ds Max. You will learn how to create high and low poly models and edit poly modifiers. You will also learn modelling 2D shapes and the invaluable edge copying technique.
Class 4 - Preparing Models for Texturing and Material Editor Interface
Now that you are confident with modelling in 3ds Max, next you will learn how to get your models ready for texturing. This course will focus on topics such as scaling your model (reset Xform), Xview, texturing workflow, using material templates including arch & design and Autodesk materials. You will also learn how to apply a material to a model by using UVW maps and the unwrap UVW method.
Class 5 - Best Practices for Materials and Working with Cameras
This class teaches you the best practices when it comes to working with materials so you save time and effort. You will learn how to open, save, create and merge material libraries, as well as various texturing techniques. You will also learn all about cameras and views.
Class 6 - Adding a Sky to the Background and Creating a Daylight System
During this two-hour session, you will learn how to work with the Viewport Background, as well as the isolation mode and displaying the object properties. You will then learn how to create a daylight system in 3ds Max. This class will also teach you how to work with the Mentalray Renderer as well as the final gather.
Class 7 - Interior Lighting and Rendering for Print
The final class of this 3ds Max training course focuses on various lighting techniques for interiors. You will learn all about lighting your scene, standard and photometric lights, distribution types, self-illuminated materials, shadows and rendering the scene. You will also learn how to use the Print Size Assistant.

Live Online Training Sessions
You will learn Autodesk 3ds Max by attending live online training sessions. Just like you would in a real classroom environment, you will be able to interact with your instructor and your peers in real time.
Challenging Tasks
After each session, you will be given a set of tasks to help you solidify what you learn during the live training sessions.
Lifetime Library Access
As well as supporting documents for your course, everything you learn during the sessions will be recorded and made available to you. You will have access to an extensive collection of support documents. Forever.
One-to-One Feedback
At the end of the training, you will have the option to attend a one-to-one feedback and evaluation session with your instructor.

How do the live courses run?

Each live course runs for two hours and during this time, you will be joining the rest of your peers and watch/listen to your instructor. You will be able to interact with your instructor and ask any questions during the course as you would in a traditional classroom set-up.
